About Nya Elise

I grew up between Ringwood and Frankston. A misunderstood teenager, moved around enough to feel like I never quite belonged. That feeling followed me into my twenties, where I landed in Melbourne and spent years in an alcohol-soaked, trauma-induced haze, working as a door bitch and cigarette rep, putting myself in situations I had no business being in and sabotaging every opportunity for something better. I was lost, buried under the wounds of my past and unaware of who I truly was beneath it all.

By my thirties, I’d found my soulmate in Torquay, fallen in love with the ocean, and built a life as a surf trainer, quietly unravelling behind the facade of a perfected image, and chronically ill in ways I didn’t yet understand. When injuries stopped me working and my husband carried the mortgage alone through the pandemic, something cracked. We looked at the life we were living: week to week, hustling for cash, battling for crowded waves, and made a decision. To change everything.

Moving to a small country town was where our self-efficiency journey stepped up a gear. We grew our garden, reduced our dependence, and started building a life that didn’t require us to run so hard just to stay alive. Then we had a baby. A beautiful girl, and the call to expand became impossible to ignore. That’s when we landed in the Otways. Close to aether on the top of the ridge, surrounded by living water and hidden by endless trees. I didn’t stumble here. I believe we were always meant to arrive.

What life looks like now is hard to describe without sounding like a bumper sticker, so I’ll just say this: it looks like abundance. Not cheap. But Not limiting. Full of love, community, real friends, and more to do than there are hours in the day. We garden, harvest, make, create, surf, hike, climb, sit by the fire, explore the north in winter and plan for the future. Time is the thing we crave most and somehow, that feels exactly right.

Body & Biofield Coherence

Most approaches to simple living stop at the practical. The garden, the budget, the skill set. Abundance for Less goes deeper. Body & Biofield Coherence is the thread that runs through all of it. The understanding that real change doesn't stick when it's only logistical. Your nervous system, your energy field, and your physiological state are the operating system underneath every habit, every decision, and every attempt at a different kind of life. The good news is that coherence is free. It doesn't require a prescription, a subscription, or a specialist. It requires awareness, and the willingness to come back to yourself. This philosophy is woven through the Abundance for Less book, explored in our downloadable resources, and experienced firsthand through Conscious Facials (a hands-on offering under Whatam that works directly with the body and biofield). When the body is coherent, insourcing stops feeling like effort and starts feeling like coming home.
